ORIOLES KEEP IT CLOSE AGAINST THE NATIONALS

6 May 2008 - In playing for second time in 2 days, and the third time in 4 days, the Orioles kept Tuesday's game against against the Nationals interesting throughout.  While the Nationals won the game 13-7, the Orioles team played with a lot of heart, while missing three players.  Bright spots for the Orioles included Evyn's first homerun and 2 hits by Robert.  Tyson also shined as he had his first hit of the season.

ORIOLES LOSE BY 1 RUN TO CARDINALS

5 May 2008 - The Cardinals managed to out duel the pitching of the Orioles in an 8-7 win Tuesday Night at Bensville Field #4.  Twice the Orioles left the bases loaded as a result of timely strike outs by the Cardinals Pitching staff.  With one inning to play, darkness set in and the close game had to be called.  Another tough loss for the struggling Orioles.  Evyn had 2 hits for the visiting Orioles.

ORIOLES PITCHING LOOKS GOOD IN TOUGH 10-1 LOSS TO ATHLETICS

3 May 2008 - If not for one marginal ball four, the final score of the Orioles 10-1 loss to the first place Athletics might have been much closer than it was to be.  In the second inning, with no runs allowed, two outs and a 3-2 count on the batter, Buddy threw a pitch that could have been called either way.  Unfortunately it went against the Orioles and from that point on, the inning became a bust for the Orioles as the Athletics went on to score 6 runs and take a 9-0 lead after only 2 innings of play.  However, the Orioles did not quit and held the mighty Athletics to just 1 run the rest of the game, as both, Robert and Evyn pitched well in relief.

ORIOLES DROP CLOSE ONE TO TWINS 12-8

30 April 2008 - With clutch hitting from Joshua who had 4 RBI's and good pitching from Cameron, Buddy and Evyn the Orioles stayed close in losing to the undefeated Twins.  While the Orioles had a good night on offense combined with the good pitching, the team just could not overcome leaving 8 runners in scoring position along with a poor defensive effort.

ORIOLES AT CARDINALS POSTPONED SECOND TIME DUE TO MUDDY FIELD

28 April 2008 - For the second straight time due to heavy rain at the Laurel Springs Park, the playing field was not in playable condition for the scheduled game between the Orioles at the Cardinals.  The new make up date has been rescheduled for Monday, 5 May 2008.

ORIOLES AT CARDINALS POSTPONED DUE TO MUDDY FIELD

22 April 2008 - With two days of heavy rain at the Laurel Springs Park, the playing field was not in playable condition for tonight's game.  The game has been rescheduled for Monday, 28 April 2008.  Before the team's next game, the Orioles will serve as Bambino Buddies on Saturday night at 6:30 PM at Laurel Springs, Field 9.  Special Olympic Athletes of all ages will be "buddied up" with Oriole players in assisting them in playing a game of softball.

ORIOLES FALL TO BRAVES 13-2 IN SEASON OPENER

19 April 2008 - After marching in the opening day parade and having pictures taken, the Orioles appeared to be ready for the Braves.  However, that was not the case.  The Braves scored 6 in the first and the rest was history.  Both teams had good defenses, and while the Orioles had 6 solid hits to the Braves 7, the major difference between the teams was the pitching.  The inexperience pitching staff of the Orioles walked 11, while the more experienced staff of the Braves walked only 1.  The team's first hit of the year was by Cameron, the team's first run was scored by Hayden and Evyn had the team's first run batted in.
